Dear reader,
There’s something about September, right? The weather’s changing, schools & colleges are open again, summer’s slowly ending, and everyone’s gearing up for the festive season. It reminds me of the poem that got me into writing in the first place: To Autumn by John Keats.
All in all, it’s the perfect time to clear the fog out of your glasses and refocus. For me, that looks like reorganising files while playing ‘productive vlogs’ on YouTube in the background. I only wish hashtags like #studyinspo existed when I was in school - I might have actually done some studying then.
Still - if you like watching them, here’s a creator I like. If you don’t understand this habit, here’s an explainer.
Both my parents have their birthdays in the first week of September - making it a very hectic one. On the upside, it means our house is full of flowers and cake throughout the month. Some gifts are material, and others are more…interesting.
One of those gifts was the experience of a game - one designed to bring clarity in your life. I went into it feeling quite skeptical, but the truths I realised have been a reality shifter. It’s worth checking out.
The man behind the game has a mind unlike most people I know - which makes him, automatically, one of my favourite people. He offers these game sessions for individuals as well as corporates - just in case you’re looking for real, structural change.
That got me thinking about clarity - and how to have it in a complex world.
Sometimes it’s trusting your instinct and finding the quiet when nothing makes sense. Sometimes, it can be about having simple conversations - no holds barred, all your cards on the table - and realising that the world isn’t going to fall apart like you think it will.
Other times, it comes as soon as you have some distance - a change of perspective. That’s what happens in this animated short I love, which uses a series of interviews with real people to form the voices & stories of claymation animals at an English zoo.
As always - let me know what you think of this newsletter with a reply. I love hearing your feedback! And if you liked it at all, share it with your friends.
Sending you bright clear skies,
Kaav.
